““From All Hallows Eve, Oct. 31st until Nov. 2nd each year the Mexican people join together for Day of the Dead, a celebration of the departed who come back to visit from beyond the grave. It is a time when the veil between life and death melts away and the spirit world walks among us. This show is an homage to Jose Guadalupe Posada, the father of modern Mexican art, whose imagery captures the reverence, merriment and mysticism Dia de los Muertos represents. Many of my paintings appropriate the power of his line work and reverently seek to keep it alive for a new generation.”
